gongura /sorrel leaves chutney

Hello friends,

Today I am going to prepare a very famous Andhra dish. Its almost prepared in very occasion in AP. Guess what it could be!!!!!! its Gongura pachadi.. It is made of Gongura/ sorrel leaves , below is the picture...

Lets see how to prepare the chutney our of this.

Ingredients required
Gongura leaves
1tsp methi seeds
pinch of hing
salt to taste
green/red chillies- 7-8


Method
  • Firstly these leaves are to be separated from stem and thoroughly wash and dry them.
  • Next in a pan put 1-2 spoons of oil, pinch of hing, methi seeds, and chillies and let them fry, Remove and set aside.
  • Again in same pan fry the leaves till the raw smell goes.Let it cool.
  • Now grind the fried leaves and fried chillies mixture with salt.

Its ready to be served with rice and accompanied by onion pieces.
